This residential property is stacked over several levels into the cliffside adjacent to one of Auckland’s most pristine beaches. Part of “Grand Designs New Zealand” (future seasons).
Palette
The design is complimented with invisible downlights for infill and continuous light line around the exterior perimeter that provides infill lighting to the interior and exterior intermediate zones.
All lighting was specified in black or bronze finishes to ensure the lighting is seamlessly integrated into the architectural finishes.
Concept
In order to protect the night view over the beach and sea the lighting design leaves interior walls dark. This reduces reflected glare in the glazing, allowing for an uninterrupted view of the stars and sea at night.
